Nicholas Mills & Tegan Koster


Nicholas Mills is a Creative & Creative Producer with a 30+ year history of producing and enabling a range of contemporary arts, music and experimental programs across the Deep North.

Founder of programs such as Little Day Out, MusiCairnS, and Jazz Up North whilst engaged in a formal Council arts role in the 90’s and early 2000’s (Graft ‘n’ Arts), to running producer-led space Arthouse (2010-2014) and curating a range of programs including the On Edge (media & performance festival), and the ongoing Mixed Grill (multi-artform) and In/Off Club (new music).

Through a ‘painters lens’,  Nicholas makes work in various capacities: as solo art brat Slim Deal, producer/arranger Hairbrain, media artist File_Error and visual media maker (self). A key construct of his practice is an ongoing cultural enabling framework, that manifests through various roles: Creative Producer, Creative Associate, Curator or Mentor.

Tegan Koster is a musician, creative, performer and visual artist, currently developing new experimental works, collaborating on cabaret and working towards her debut L.P. “Tegan rules the world ’95”.

Tegan produces her ‘Artist Up Front’ NDIS enabling arts program, utilising music, performance and ceramics as tools for empowerment.

In 2024 she produced her RADF funded ‘Shapes’ project, including a series of three video/audio works as part of the group show ‘other’.

Performing her TKP set live and solo, Tegan deploys live synths, drum machines, bass guitar and vocals to produce a dynamic  ‘one-person-band’.

Recently produced and performed the character ‘Peggy Frank’ for the Buenos Nachos Production “Nichita Nights” cabaret event as part of  NAFA.

In 2025, Tegan and Nicholas will launch their new creative space ‘By Appointment Artspace’, (part of The 5Five) , in Bungalow (Gimuy) – in a former car wreckers and fencing yard.
